Insights into World Missions

World Missions Day

February 28, 2015 is World Missions Sunday! We pray that day will be a tremendous celebration of our missionary God and a renewal of our commitment to make His name known to the nations. Under our present support structure, World Missions Sunday is the annual emphasis for giving to our general fund of missions. We certainly encourage our churches to continue to partner with missionaries; however, we need the offerings on February 28 to go exclusively to the general fund. Here is a partial listing of items financed by the general fund:

  • 70% of our entire general fund budget is spent on missionary/church planter salaries. This includes 16 fully-funded international families, all of the 65/35 families, the stipend for North American church planters, and national salaries in approximately 50 countries.
  • 20% of the general fund includes things like missionary cottages (housing for missionaries while in the States), missionary care (ministering to missionaries on the field), office expenses, travel expenses for directors, warehouse expense, production of Mission:World Magazine, the annual prayer calendar, web sites, office and directors salaries.
  • 10% of the general fund is spent on MLM (Missions Literature Ministry), deputation and stateside assignment (furlough) expenses, language school, passage and shipping, international seminaries/Bible Institutes, assessment, and training.

As you can see, BMAA Missions is still very dependent on the general fund. In order to assist you in your World Missions Sunday planning, we have a couple of resources for you. Please display the posters included in this envelope. You may order our annual missionary calendar and the missions video at the following website: www.bmamissions.org/worldmissions This site also provides the opportunity to make a donation to world missions. You may also place your order by calling the missions office at 501-455-4977. Thank you so much for your global partnership!
